The first race, the 50K, began at precisely 7 AM, before the sun had come up. The 10K and 30K began together at 8 AM. Race Director Chris Rodatz welcomed over 400 runners to this years races with an opening prayer just before the start of the first race. Entry fees for the shorter races started at $30, late entrants were charged a little higher, for the more than 300 participants. The 50K fee was $60 and over 70 runners paid that gratefully to master the 31 mile course which consisted of running the perimeter of the old base (6.2 miles) five times.
