Koodonation.com takes advantage of how much time most of us already spend online to create a virtual community meeting ground. Koodonation volunteers and charities meet, brainstorm and solve business and ou want to teach your kids to give back and find ways for your family to get involved in the community, but where do you even begin? Role Mothers, recently launched with advice from some of Calgary’s most active and well-known moms, is a mom-powered resource to help families weave the spirit of giving into their daily lives to create future generations of philanthropic Calgarians. The program shares family-friendly volunteer opportunities available within Calgary for all age groups and commitment levels, as identified by other Role Mothers and partnering organizations. “Volunteering is one of the best ways for busy families to spend time together and support the community but sometimes no matter how committed we are to giving back, it’s difficult to find flexible volunteer opportunities that work for the whole family,” says Paige O’Neill, General Manager, Market Mall and founder of Role Mothers. “Our hope is the Role Mothers initiative will give moms a forum to inspire one another and at the end of the day, create a ripple effect of giving in Calgary,” she says. With specific opportunities posted by local charitable organizations and partners such as Volunteer Calgary, and the invaluable advice shared by other moms, the online community is a great resource for caring moms-on-the-go and a true celebration of Calgary’s spirit of giving.
