PEOPLE  Brian O’Neill Featured Broker Profiles upon graduating from Brown university in 1984, Brian entered the real estate world as a project planner for a large development firm in Boston. He moved to Telluride in 1989 for a winter of skiing in the San Juans and instantly fell in love with the region. Skiing eventually led to Brian’s greatest adventure, his family with wife Hilaree and their two boys Quinn and Grayden. Hilaree’s wildly successful career as a member of The North Face team has further fueled Brian and now their boys’ sense of adventure. After 21 years of learning how to live like a Colorado native, Brian applies his eastern work ethic and tenacity to his craft as a highly effective broker. His mission is to provide the most thorough and insightful service possible, resulting in the highest level of professionalism and integrity for his client’s transactions. Brian realizes buying or selling a home in Telluride is a significant emotional and financial endeavor requiring a trusted, proactive advisor who cares about more than just the transaction. As he learned from his father, anything worth doing is worth doing right. Brian has committed himself to the spirit of Telluride community because of his belief in what this community and special place gives back to him. Brian serves on the Board of Directors and the Grants Committee of the Telluride Foundation, he was recently appointed to the Telluride Open Space Commission which establishes priorities and criteria for acquisition and use of open spaces in the Telluride region. Tom Hess Tom lends more than 30 years of sales and marketing experience to Telluride Properties. Originally from Maryland, he discovered Telluride in the early 1980s and immediately knew it’s where he wanted to make his home He moved to the area in 1990, and immersed himself in the Telluride community, volunteering his time and enjoying all the area has to offer. Tom held various executive sales and marketing roles for hotels and property management companies. Tom studied architecture and urban studies at the university of Maryland which was the beginning of his adoration for real estate. Combined with his extensive experience, he advises clients on all aspects of the home buying and building process. A trusted advisor that stays continually informed and educated about the ever-changing Telluride real estate market, Tom helps both buyers and sellers achieve their goals. Committed to the growth and sustainability of Telluride, Tom has volunteered his time to organizations close to him. He most recently served as President of the Telluride/Montrose Regional Air Organization for 7 years and he’s been on the board of the organization since 1991. under his leadership the organization contributed to the economic vitality of the region by generating revenue and negotiating contracts that guarantee flights into the Telluride region. Currently serving on the fundraising and programming committee for the Michael D. Palm Theatre, Tom’s team ensures that Telluride’s performing arts center is accessible to as many people in the community as possible. He also serves on the board of the Repertory Theatre, Telluride’s resident not for profit theatre since 1990. When Tom isn’t at the office he can be found riding his mountain bike, hiking, playing softball, cross country & skate skiing or snowshoeing with his dog on the vast trail system in Telluride. Josh Rapaport Josh grew up in Connecticut, and learned the business side of life working for a high-end real estate development company. He excelled at accounting and business organization, but mountain living beckoned to him. Josh yearned to hike out his back door and ski those early morning powder days, while dreaming of a fresh new look on life and its potential. The depth of Telluride’s real estate market has given Josh a chance to live and work in an amazing place, while satisfying both his professional and personal goals. Not every real estate broker comes from the same mold, and Josh is unique. He has a background in luxury real estate development and organic/sustainable architecture, and is currently co-owner of Box Canyon Management, LLC, a boutique property management company. Such a distinctive background gives Josh a one of a kind point of view in Telluride’s real estate market. While he understands the true costs of development, he can also help clients understand real estate investments, the potential for raw land, building systems, and maintenance needs.
