Wireless Qualcomm announces Media Manager Service Qualcomm Inc. announced the availability of Media Manager Service, which provides fleets with an easy, inexpensive way to deliver detailed information to drivers remotely through a variety of media, including audio, video and PDF files. According to the com-pany, the robust, comprehensive media deliv-ery tool is available on the Mobile Computing Platform 100 Series (MCP110) and Mobile Computing Platform 200 Series (MCP200). The service enables fleets to quickly and cost effectively deliver timely content to address immediate operational, safety and other information needs, such as corporate updates, training content, forms, permits, maps of properties and special instructions. SkyBitz, McLeod Software solutions available in beta SkyBitz and McLeod Software announced that McLeod customers now are able to install the newly integrated asset tracking and manage-ment module in beta. With this new integra-tion module, users of McLeod’s LoadMaster are provided with visibility of enhanced SkyBitz trailer information, such as door opened or closed, cargo empty or loaded, and trailer motion started and stopped. Previously, users only had visibility to SkyBitz generated trailer positions within McLeod’s LoadMaster. Customers currently using the LoadMaster interface to SkyBitz can contact McLeod sales staff for a quote on installation of the new features. The finalized software integration version will be available to the public in the McLeod Software Winter 2011 release, slated for the first quarter of 2011.
