Q A For Your Skinformation. I saw a photo that showed a side-view of me, and I noticed that I am getting a little bit of a turkey neck and some jowls. I thought it made me look older and heavier than I am. Naturally, I’m not happy about this, but on the other hand I do not want to have a facelift at this point in my life. Is there anything that can help with this, short of surgery? The changes you see on your face happen to all of us. Many of our patients share your desire to improve these areas, avoiding surgery if possible. Fortunately, in the last few years there have been exciting advancements in non-surgical treatments for the jawline and upper neck. For some, we simply replace facial volume to smooth and fi rm the jawline. We also recommend ThermiTight ® , a minimally-invasive energy treatment to tighten the jawline and upper neck. Some patients benefi t from Kybella ® or CoolSculpting ® treatments to improve a double chin. Most patients get their best results with a combination of these procedures. Q I recently heard about a new way to lift the face without having surgery, using a new type of threads. It sounded like something that I would be interested in. Can you tell me more about it? Just as you heard, the Silhouette Instalift™ lifts sagging skin, resulting in a fresher, more youthful appearance. In this minimally-invasive procedure, specialized sutures are placed under the skin, giving an immediate lift with very little recovery. Over time the sutures gradually dissolve, with the added benefi t of stimulating collagen in the process. The Silhouette Instalift™ is FDA-cleared and we recommend a consultation with a physician who is trained and certifi ed in the procedure to see if you are a good candidate for it. The procedure has been used extensively in Europe, was recently brought to the U.S., and is performed in less than 30 minutes.
