Lowell Management “I love the relationships we develop with clients... They become more than clients. They become friends, family, and we help them maintain their homes all year round.” a: 401 Geneva National Avenue South, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin 53147 t: 262.245.9030 w: www.lowellmanagement.com Sometimes you have to go down a road you create to make a place for yourself in this world. At least this has been the case for Scott Lowell. A first-generation builder for more than three decades, Lowell didn’t know building award-winning homes would be his future when he graduated from college with a master’s degree in education. He thought he’d ultimately work his way into an administrative position with a university. But a different opportunity came knocking, and Lowell, who spent college summers working as a construction worker, answered, and set out to build schools in far-flung places like Kuwait and Trinidad for a global educational firm. “I wanted to run a college and be an administrator at a college level,” recalls Lowell. “But I went in a different direction and I enjoyed building schools.” Following the Gulf War, Lowell again went in a different direction on a road he paved himself, opening his own building firm right here in southeastern Wisconsin. What followed were more than 300 homes of distinction nestled along the pristine shores of Geneva Lake and amid the rolling greens of Geneva National. “I love the relationships we develop with clients,” shares Lowell. “They become more than clients. They become friends, family, and we help them maintain their homes all year round. We get a lot of repeat and multi-generational business.” One of Lowell’s recent homes in Fontana is a stunning, 12,000-square-foot example of the firm’s dedication to quality. Sitting atop a hill along the western shore of Geneva Lake, on the site of the once-grand Angel’s Flight, the home is a tribute to European elegance, with copper-topped turrets, a stained-glass dome in the entryway and painstakingly detailed woodwork. It also features a state- of-the-art theater, a climate-controlled wine cellar, a craft room, and a hidden reading room behind custom-built bookcases. While the home is grand on every level and boasts every modern amenity, Lowell says building “new” homes is never his goal. “We like our homes to feel like they’ve been there 100 years,” he reflects. “Our homes may be new, yes, but they look and feel like they’ve always been there. There are no echoes. The floors are solid. The craftsmanship is Old World and spectacular. We work with crews and suppliers we’ve known for years, with people we trust, who know what we expect, because we want our clients to be as in love with their homes as we are.” 44 // At Home
