In its 14-year existence, Hidden Creek has also caught the eye of top golf organizations as host site for various big-time events. In 2015, Hidden Creek hosted the United States Golf Association (USGA) Senior Amateur Championship. The club also hosted a U.S. Open qualifier in 2014, and, in 2004, the USGA selected the club as a qualifying site for two other prestigious USGA Championships, the U.S. Women’s Open and the U.S. Senior Open. To complement the course, Hansen built an elegant clubhouse that includes all the amenities of the private golf experience – a well-stocked pro shop, expansive locker rooms, a fitness center and cuisine that rivals any restaurant in Atlantic City. “To me, I don’t think there is a clubhouse that compares to Hidden Creek,” Gottlieb says. “I describe it as understated elegance. It’s beautifully designed and everything is first class without being garish. “More and more members are enjoying the amenities,” he adds. “We’ve put a lot of time, effort and resources into a top-notch F&B operation. You are seeing more and more members take advantage of the social component every year.” As Hidden Creek has grown its reputation as a world-class facility, in 2006 management added an eight-room lodge specifically for regional and national members. The design is consistent with the clubhouse and, according to Gottlieb, the lodge has been a popular option for members and their guests. As the course increases in popularity, Hidden Creek continues to expand its membership, not only in the region but across the country and the globe. The combination of membership affordability and a pristine environment is a strong one-two punch. “I don’t think south Jersey realizes how fortunate it is to have courses of this caliber at such relatively affordable prices right here in our own backyard,” Gottlieb says. “If this course were on Long Island or in north Jersey, you are talking six-figure initiation fees and, in some cases as much as quarter-million-dollar initiation fees.” “When you are talking about a world-class experience,” Gottlieb says, “it’s right here.” n M O N M O U T H C O U N T Y P A R K S Y YS S T E M GO OLF O OUTI IN G • 18-Ho ole Shotgun • &#0d; &#0c; &#0b; &#0a; &#0b; &#0c; • Mini-O Out ings wit h Consecut C ive Te T ee Ti imes for Smal ler Gr oups • Food & Drink Menu us Includ d ing Alcohol ic c Beverages • FootG Gol f Out ings 732-462-92 224, Ext.1# golf.outing gs@monmouthcounty yparks.com Monmouth hCountyParks.com Le t our na tionall y acc laimed g olf courses host y our r ne xt Howel l Park Gol f Course GOLFSTYLESONLINE.COM 55
