December 2015/January 2016 | Midwest Real Estate News 2015 HALL OF FAME 41 DIANA C. GOLOB The bio: Diana Golob’s long real estate career – both in Northeast Ohio and across the globe – is filled with highlights. For instance, she represented The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in its successful efforts to centralize its real estate portfolio and transactions at a corporate level. Through this process, she was involved in multiple surplus land sales in the Asia Pacific region, one of which sold for $34 Million USD in Taiwan ( or $3.4 million an acre). This experience also helped her become adept at international business by traveling to more than 30 countries to gain an understanding of the culture and market dynamics of each. Golob’s professional awards include Crain’s Cleveland Business 40 under 40, winning the NAIOP Traveling Gun Industrial Broker award three times, and becoming a five-time winner of the NAIOP Traveling Gun Deal of the Year in Industrial and Office. She also received the CREW Cleveland Member of the Year Award in 2014. A business to love: What do I enjoy most about this business? That’s a tough question because I love so much about it. But I enjoy the people we interact with and successfully completing an assignment, knowing my clients’ needs have been met and their real estate will support the growth of their business. I also enjoy finding creative solutions to seemingly impenetrable roadblocks, and knowing that every day will be a new adventure with challenges to overcome. The reasons for success: My ability to relate to anyone, a sincere care and interest in people and a natural curiosity of how different businesses are run have attributed to my success in developing new business. In terms of getting a deal done, you have to be agile and persevere through the ups and downs, stops and starts of a real estate trans-action. Deals come and go, so never, as they say, “put all your eggs in one basket.” I am currently managing more than 50 transactions locally, nationally and internationally. Having a broad geography in my pipeline helps because when the United States is booming, Europe may be in a recession and parts of Latin America may be stagnant. But rarely does the entire world experience a global financial crisis. Even in 2008 and 2009, we were still highly active and very profitable managing transactions in the Asia Pacific region. Being prepared: Finally, planning and being prepared for the work day. I keep a list of business targets, deals in my pipeline and col-lections that I review several times a month. Every evening at home, I plan for the next day by creating a list of “to do”s and sometimes sorting and prioritizing them. I take pride in being responsive to my clients and getting things done well in advance of any deadline. Off-work time: In her spare time, Golob enjoys spending time with her fiancé Russell and his son Kohlton and their extended family. She feels her life finally has balance as she has a strong network of girlfriends to support her in personal affairs and colleagues to support her in her professional life. When she is able to sneak away for a vacation, she prefers warm climates and adventures abroad. Managing Director Hanna Commercial Canton, OH CONGRATULATIONS!
