UPCOMING NEVER Trainings COME & Events ALONE NEVER Cell tower model ordinance In October of 2014, the Federal Communi -cations Commission released a Final Report and Order regarding the siting of telecommunica -tions with a focus on applications for collocation and those that are not considered a “substantial modification”, and last spring the Iowa Legisla -ture passed HF655 which is the Iowa Cell Siting Act. These federal and state law changes have an impact to local decisions on these applications, so the League is in the process of developing a model ordinance that can act as a starting place for your city in changing your ordinances to meet the new requirements.
