From the President My Dear Blue Jay Nation, I am truly honored and humbled by the confidence and trust you have bestowed on me as the 21 st President. It is a responsibility that I take very seriously and one in which I am very excited about since my appointment. I have had numerous conversations with members of the Blue Jay Nation, received many calls and personal notes and email messages from students, faculty, staff and alumni. The outpouring of support has been spectacular. But there was one such letter that really got my attention. It came from Jennifer Jezek-Taussig ’91, a proud Westminster alumna. Jennifer’s email espoused the passion and love that runs deep with the permanent citizens of the Blue Jay Nation. I would like to share extracts from Jennifer’s letter with you: Congratulations on your appointment as Westminster College’s 21 st president! Fred and I met at Westminster in the fall of 1987 when I was 17 and he was 18. I came from Tulsa as a Churchill Scholar, and Fred came from St. Louis at the last minute. I lived in Marquess D-4 and I think Fred lived in Scott Hall ... then on to Sweazey, Wetterau and Wiegle Halls for me while Fred lived at the Phi Delt House and ate “Rosie burgers” every Friday afternoon.
