Among the items addressed by the board were: • Reviewed and approved the audited financial statements for Fiscal Year 2014. • Approved an amended budget to account for a Natural Resources Conservation Services grant and the purchase and implementation of association management software. • Consent to President Wood’s appointments to boards and committees. • An update of the League’s legislative priorities headed into the session. • Review of the League’s Annual Conference and City Week 2014. • Approved the Planning Session Summary Report from the August board meeting retreat. • Adopted a revised Vision Statement. League presentations included budget projections and estimates as well as preparing and presenting the budget to the council and citizens. There was also an update from the Iowa Department of Management on the state budget form and a session on budget form basics. We thank all who attended the workshops and for helping make them a success. For many cities the budget season is now in full swing, and we encourage all city officials to access the various League resources that can help with your budget. Each city received our Budget Special Report in November, which provides details and projections on rev -enues and expenditures important to cities. The report is available at www.iowaleague.org where you can also visit the Finance Section as it contains numerous pages with budget related information as well as our Property Tax Model to help you project future property tax revenues. Send conference workshop ideas Check us out! We want to hear your ideas for workshop topics for the League’s 2015 Annual Confer-ence & Exhibit, to be held September 23-25 in Cedar Rapids. Send topic suggestions to MbrSvcs@iowaleague.org. If you have an interest in presenting a topic and sharing your knowledge and expertise with local government decision-makers, please submit a work-shop proposal. Guidelines for workshop proposals are available at www.iowaleague.org. The workshop proposal process helps us provide conference attendees with an exciting and informative lineup of workshops. The League would like to encourage city officials, academics and those involved in providing services to city governments to submit a workshop proposal. Proposals will be evaluated based on how the topic addresses the needs of Iowa elected and appointed city officials and are due by Friday, Jan. 9, 2015. Executive Board highlights

The Iowa League of Cities Executive Board met Thursday, November 13 at the League’s office in Des Moines. Among the items addressed by the board were:
