Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario’s (DICO) Sound Business and Financial Practices, the Board devoted much time reviewing new DICO guidelines and were instrumental in the development of a new policy and guidelines. WFCU’s Commercial Services team continued to manage our fastest growing member segment. This year, through the support of our commercial members, commercial loans increased $62.3 million and commercial deposits increased $40.8 million. Maximizing our footprint in Essex County, market share expansion plans guided us through the planning of our town of Amherstburg retail location, our seventh, opening in July 2013. WFCU also announced the plan to open two additional retail locations in 2014; our eighth to be located within the University of Windsor’s Innovation Centre and our ninth to be located in the heart of Downtown Windsor. Expansion plans, extended hours and Sunday hours generated new opportunities for career advancement and skill development for WFCU employees and employment opportunities for 38 new staff.
