DEPARTMENTS New Business Panera Bread, Berlin Panera Bread Panera Bread opened its fi rst “small market test” location in Berlin thanks to a collaborative effort spearheaded by Pomerleau Real Estate . Pomerleau partnered with the town of Berlin, state offi cials, and neighboring property owners to bring the bakery-café style restaurant to central Vermont. The Berlin Panera will employ approximately 30 people. 1450 Barre-Montpelier Road. The company is a retailer of value priced apparel and accessories targeting young women in their teens and 20s, and operates more than 500 retail stores in 45 states and Puerto Rico. It is owned by Advent International. Ryder System Inc. Ryder System Inc. , a company offer-ing commercial transportation and supply chain management solutions, opened a state-of-the-art Fleet Management Solutions facility in White River Junction. The facility will provide maintenance services for commercial transportation customers that lease and rent their fl eets from Ryder. It also features a full-service rental counter for businesses needing heavy-duty vehicles on a short-term basis. It will service about 50 local customers from this location. 1103 N.
