CONTACT INFO LTAHB 455 BAY ST., SUITE E PETOSKEY, MI 49770 231/348 -9770 FAX: 231/348 -8155 Please contact the office with any business changes, advertising, or contributions to the publication of the “Blueprint Newsletter:” Our state and national associations have full -time staff dedicated to advocating for its members, their businesses and our industry. They routinely meet with decision makers, whether they are legislators, regulators or rule mak-ers, explaining how a proposal will impact our members, negatively or positively. While they are respected professionals known throughout Lansing and Washington, they are still just one voice. As members, we owe it to ourselves to speak out for our businesses and our industry; we need to voice our opinion directly to legislators and rule makers, too. As vot-ers, we have the ability to influence election outcomes and ultimately return our industry and economy to prosperity. The LTAHB is offering you an opportunity to meet your current representatives in local, state and national government and their challengers in the November election. This will take place at our next membership meeting October 2nd. We offered this prior to the 2010 election and had an outstanding program with over a dozen candidates meeting over 130 of our members. With our industry hammered by economic events of historic propor-tions, now is the time to advocate for improved regulation and legislation that will posi-tively impact our industry. By meeting these candidates in person next week, writing or calling our officials as a grassroots effort, your voice and vote will matter. Here’s one rea-son why you need to go. You’ve heard me say it before, that There’s power in numbers. Our collective voice is loudest when we speak in unison. No matter your political bias, we all have our industry in common. If you have colleagues in the industry that are not HBA members, suggest they join our association in an effort to strengthen our influence and make our voice not only louder but clearer. Your suppliers, builders, remodelers, painters, siders, lenders, plumbers, drywallers, masons and roofers should all be members like you “Because it’s our Industry .” Have a great start to your fall season, Jeff Grantham, President, LTAHB (231)838 -8777 jeff@granthambuildremodel.com ‘LIKE’ us on Facebook.
