GOLDSTEINS’ ROSENBERG’S RAPHAEL-SACKS BRANDT CECELIA BRANDT departed this world during her favorite season. CELIA delighted in springtime, which brought the first blooms of her favorite flowers—daffodils and lilacs. Her admiration of beauty extended to the arts, and she was a devoted patron of culture in both her birthplace of Philadelphia and adopted hometown of Chicago. As a young woman, CELIA appreciated the fine education she received at the Philadelphia High School for Girls, but not infrequently, she would cut class to spend an afternoon at the Philadel-phia Museum of Art. After moving to Chi-cago, CELIA shared her enjoyment of culture with her children and grandchildren by taking them to Chicago museums, as well as mak-ing sure that each of them signed up for a li-brary card. She lived by the motto that a per-son could never feel truly alone, as long as he or she had the company of a good book. CE-LIA cherished the time she spent at home raising her children. After her children reached adulthood, CELIA resumed her ca-reer as a medical technician. She enjoyed in-teracting with colleagues and patients, which she far preferred over housekeeping. The ad-vent of grandchildren was the pinnacle of family joy to CELIA, who reveled in their company and looked forward to every visit. On April 21, 2013, Celia passed away at the age of 85. Her family misses her terribly. She is survived by her dear sisters, REITA FRIDMAN and DOROTHY BRANDT; son, FRED PHILLIPS (HYONSOOK); daughter, BETH JENSEN (DENNIS); and five grandchil-dren, LARA JENSEN, ANNA PHILLIPS, AN-DREW JENSEN, GINA PHILLIPS, and SIMON JENSEN.
