GOLDSTEINS’ ROSENBERG’S RAPHAEL-SACKS CROSS BERNARD CROSS, 89 of Elkins Park died at his home on April 18, 2013. MR. CROSS was past president of Cross Brothers Meat Pack-ers Inc. at 3600 N. Front St. in Kensington. For many years, the company was one of the largest meat packing firms in the east, but it closed in 1979. BERNARD (SPANKY) was a past president of Beth Sholom Congregation in Elkins Park. He was a past chairman of the Food Trade Division of Federation, a board member of the Jewish Theological Seminary and Solomon Shechter Day Schools. He was the founder and officer of the Hebrew Free Loan Society. He was a member of Ash-bourne Country Club, Philmont Country Club, and Hackenburg Masonic Lodge. He was also a former member of the Young Presidents Organization. Mr. Cross attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and served in World War II as a 1st lieutenant. He was a graduate of Penn State University. He is survived by his wife of 65 years POLLY (KROW). Loving father of SUSAN LIEBMAN (SAMUEL), PATTY CROSS BERMAN, and BENJAMIN (STACEY).
