Promoting Michigan Agriculture Michigan agriculture has a $71.3 billion impact on Michigan’s economy. The agriculture industry is second ranking in Michigan, only to the auto industry. This statistic is the cumulative impact of the entire industry, and includes on-farm jobs, processing, agri-business, agri-tourism, and all related aspects of the food/farm industry. Michigan produces over 200 different commodities in Michigan and is second only to California in the variety of agriculture products. The 2010 criteria for inclusion were based primarily on the Census data and the National Agriculture Statistics Service (NASS).
