Mick Asbury was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed tradition and spending time with his family, especially the day after Thanksgiv- ing, when son Darrin says Mick would schedule all the men to “do something” while the women shopped the biggest sales of the year. “We were all hunters and shooters. We’d go out to a field off 7th Standard Road and buy clay pigeons. There were 15 to 20 guys, and we’d just shoot and talk,” said Asbury. Those are good memories. When Mick passed away, he left a void in the family tradition, so Asbury, his brother, mom, other family members and friends decided to fill the time with an event that would be a tribute to Mick and also help others who suffered from the disease.
