His announcement was made at a press con-ference in front of the Clay County Court-house on Monday morning, Jan. 23, as he kicked off his congressional campaign. The district lines have shifted due to the Unit-ed States Census, and District 6, occupied by incumbent Congressman Cliff Stearns (R) is one of those affected, as is District 3, held by Congresswoman Corrine Brown (D). Jett said that the district lines will be changed soon and the new districts renumbered. “Clay County has a chance to send a repre-sentative to Washington, D.C. who can fi ght for more effective and ef fi cient government,” said Jett. “We need strong decisive leader-ship that can break the deadlock in Washing-ton and challenge the rest of Congress to do the right thing.
