The public is encouraged to visit this booth and see how far the fair has progressed. Fair Manager Pete Sutton said, “We are excited about sharing our 25 year history with our guests this year at the fair. We will have on display the original poster, a scrapbook showing the fi rst ribbon cutting and much more. We are proud of our success and the accomplish-ments that have been as a result of the hard work and dedicated service of our many volunteers.” Claude Kelley, sometimes referred to as the “Father of the Clay County Fair” kept a number of photographs, clippings and other memorabilia over the years and His-torian Ann Williamson put them in scrapbook form for the display. The administration building is named in hon-or of Claude Kelly, who was one of the original movers and shakers who got the idea of a fair for Clay County off the ground.
