This payment represents 50% of the 1997 regional deferred patronage, and brings the total amount distributed to NEW members since September 2010 By Brent Bunte to over $6.15 million. This number is approximately 50% of the patronage allocation for our fi scal year ending August 31, 2010. These numbers are a symbol of the fi nancial strength of your cooperative and a direct result of your dedicated busi-ness to NEW. Strong fi nancial numbers also lead us to additional bene fi ts of be-ing a member of NEW. Throughout the year, your Board of Directors reviews our locations, facilities, equipment and operations to see where improvements may be necessary to ensure you are receiving the most ef fi cient service and that we are able to add value to your operation. You will see on the next few pages of this newsletter a detailed de-scription of the locations where your Board has recently approved capi-tal improvements. Grain Manager, Mark Walter, will further explain to you the need for these improvements and capital expenditures based on grain yield trends. As a NEW Cooperative member, you also bene fi t from the ef fi cient and maintained equipment that we are able to provide. We know how important this is to seeing that your spring, summer and fall operations run smoothly. Dan Dix, Agronomy Manager, will also update you on equipment purchases and availability for 2011. The growth and fi nancial strength we have been continuing to see at NEW means a bright future ahead as well. With your patronage, our dedicated Board of Directors and professional employee team serving you, we will continue to see the great bene fi ts and added value NEW is able to provide for our membership.
