ADAM SCHUMACHER, A 26-year-old assistant at Indian Hill Club in Winnetka, was the last man standing in the Illinois PGA Championship, held Aug. 21-23 at Medinah Country Club. Schumacher finished the three-round with a 4-under 209. For his efforts, he took home $11,700. Jim Billiter, the head professional at Kemper Lakes, led after two rounds at 8-under after back-to-back 4-under efforts, but his final round of 9-over took him out of contention. Dakun Chang and Doug Bauman tied for third at an even-par 213. Next year’s Illinois PGA Championship is scheduled to take place at Stonewall Orchard Golf Club in Grayslake.
