Ms. Saenz states that travel is her life, both in work and play. Q: Name your top three favorite ‘sexy spas and resorts’ and why you deem them as such. My top three are Namale Resort and Spa in Fiji; Royal Palms Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona and One&Only Palmilla, Los Cabos, Mexico. Recently having been to Namale Resort and Spa, I liked it because it’s not only a beautiful spa, but it’s the largest spa in the South Pacifi c. What’s lovely about it is that they have a signature foot treatment for you right when you arrive. Th ey take you to an open area where you sit in a big, fluff y, beautiful chair while they salt scrub your feet. Another thing Namale has that I have never seen before is fi ve separate baths each with different herb and essence combinations meant for diff erent purposes. Th ey also have an incredible large-headed, powerful shower that allows you to lie on your stomach while the water beats down on your legs and back. In regards to the Royal Palms Resort and Spa and the One&Only Palmilla, I liked them both because they are very large and beautiful with great service. Th ey both have interesting and unique qualities and offer diff erent kinds of treatments than the normal spa does. Q: In hotels like the Sagamore, Th e Raleigh, and Loews Miami Beach Hotel clients are able to opt for in-suite spa treatments instead of venturing to the actual spa.Do you see more intimate spa experiences like these replacing actual spa use in the future? No, I think having “intimate spa experiences” deters from the overall treatment. When I am in the spa area, I love the calm atmosphere, the smells, the sounds, the dreamymusic, and the extras like fancy water, teas, fruit, and big comfy chairs. All of this adds to the experience and if I’m in my room, I’m not getting that. Q: What is the most exquisite spa you have ever come across while booking a resort and spa for a client? I remember the fi rst time I saw the Grand Wailea Spa in Maui. What impressed me the most was the massiveness of the spa. It’s very complete, has a lot of treatment rooms, and has a very nice ambiance. Q: Q: Name the top three spa amenities that clients regularly request during their trip. Access to the spa area, access to a private pool, and access to free products. Which travel destinations attract the most sexy resort and spa-seeking clientele? Th e South Pacifi c because I think this area is very exotic and a very spiritual place. It is conducive to that pampering and unity you want between your mind, soul, and body. When I’m thinking about spa-ing I’m thinking about the South Pacifi c because it’s very laid back, casual, and all about rejuvenation and wellness.
