FL: 2018 Triathlon Championships in Miami USA Triathlon announced that the first-ever USA Triathlon Multisport National Championships will take place from November 10-11, 2018, as part of the Miami Man Triathlon in Miami, Florida. The event schedule will feature long-course triathlon, long-course duathlon, aquathlon and aquabike races, all of which will qualify top athletes for the International Triathlon Union (ITU) Age Group World Championships in their respective disciplines. IA: NAIA Pins Des Moines as Host of Championships Catch Des Moines along with Grand View University will host and execute the 2018 & 2019 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Wrestling Championships. The championships will bring in 210 wrestlers from across the United States to compete at the Iowa State Fairgrounds Jacobson Exhibition Center on March 2-3, 2018 and March 1-2, 2019. FL: Tennis On Campus Serves Up National Championships at New USTA Venue The 2017 USTA Tennis On Campus National Championship was held at the USTA National Campus at Lake Nona in Orlando, Florida, April 13-15. University of Michigan won the event. Tennis On Campus, the USTA’s college club program, features more than 35,000 college students competing nationwide in intramural and intercollegiate coed club play. Since its inception in 2000, Tennis On Campus has grown significantly and today is played on more than 700 college campuses. IL: Rockford Hosts Gymnastics, Lacrosse, Bowling in One Weekend The Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau celebrated three large-scale sports tournaments in one weekend. The AAU Midwest Regional Gymnastics Championships, LAX ROX Invitational Lacrosse Tournament and the 2017 Illinois Bowling Association (USBC) State Tournament all took place between May 5 and 7 and were estimated to have an economic impact of $316,800. SC: Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship The 34th annual Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championship will be played August 28 – September 1, 2017, on more than 50 of Myrtle Beach’s golf courses. More than 1,700 players are presently registered. A special “19th hole” is held at the 120,000-square-foot Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
