The 2017 Home Show, produced by the Home Builders Association of Jackson, was a huge success! Special thanks to the corporate sponsors who made the event possible (listed right). Over 200 exhibitors showcased thousands of the newest home products. Pictured above is Provision Designs, LLC, who won the Best of Show award with their fabulous booth. Congratulations to Allison and John Hertel! The sixth-annual crowd favorite challenge was at The Home Show featuring a Builder Challenge with Dream Spaces. A “home” was built in the center of the Trade Mart, and each builder was given a 10'-by-15' space as a mock room, complete with three walls that included electrical outlets and trimmed with baseboards and crown moulding. All rooms contained pre-painted white trim, and each builder chose a different Sherwin-Williams color for their walls. A ceiling joist was hidden above the burlap ceiling and was wired to install a ceiling fixture, if desired. The concrete floor was left bare for the designers to install flooring, place an area rug, or just leave as is. Home Show attendees voted for their favorite room, and one lucky attendee won a 40-inch HD TV from Cowboy Maloney’s. All four of the rooms were stunning, but when all the ballots were tallied, Timbercrest Homes, LLC won with Farmhouse Fresh Kitchen. A special thank you goes to the sponsors of the Builder Challenge; Frierson Bailey Lumber & Supply, Trustmark, and Mississippi Housing Institute, and to these local contributors; Sherwin-Williams, Leo’s Painting, Sutherland Electric, and Cowboy Maloney’s Electric City. Kim Cole, office coordinator and design consultant for Contractors Millwork, served as the 2017 Home Show Chairperson. Kim put countless hours into the planning and coordination of the Builder Challenge, and the event would not have seen such a great success without her hard work. Thank you Kim!
