The vibrant feature home is the result of a homeowners’ move because their needs were changing as a family. Settled in their “forever” home for over two years, they came to the realization that they needed to sell it and look for a different home that could house an elderly parent, while still having room for their two teenage children until they were college-bound. Amy Schrock, co-owner of Latitudes in Jackson, worked diligently with these homeowners and designed everything to perfection in their forever home. They then decided it was necessary to move. When they couldn’t find another home to purchase that fit their needs because of time constraints, they decided to rent a home in the Old Towne Station subdivision of Ridgel and. Amy was called in to make this home feel like the other one by using the same furniture and decor with just a few modifications. On the previous page, Amy’s custom-designed sofa and chair were added to complement the floral painting, making a fun, colorful sitting area. Their dining room furniture shown above worked perfectly in the new dining room. The entry to the right was the perfect place for the zebra rug and a custom-built coat rack. The basic white kitchen with a long center island covered in black quartz was a splendid backdrop for Amy to add the vivid colors she loves to use. The island had enough room for three over sized bar stools for meals and to place a vibrant, colorful runner. The traditional breakfast room was transformed into a comfortable sitting area with an eclectic sofa and chair from Latitudes. The homeowners’ existing furniture and accessories fit exceptionally well in the main living area. Amy is gifted in coordinating colors, textures, and patterns to complement the heirloom antiques and modern furniture of the homeowner. This family has a deep love for color, music, and art, and they are very devout in their faith—also qualities that Amy has. This bound the two together in a wonderful business relationship that soon evolved into a beautiful friendship. Amy had fun placing the artwork, special Bible verses, words, and a collection of crosses throughout the home. As they continue to search for another house, these homeowners feel right at home in this temporary living room. The master bedroom is the only room in the home with the absence of vivid color. The homeowners wanted it to be more of a neutral, relaxing, calming room. Furnishings in this room contain a beautiful, custom-upholstered headboard and custom-made bedding from Latitudes. Amy refurbished the night stands and chests by custom-painting them and then found the perfect hardware to give the chests a more modern look.
