Nick Thompson Staff writer/photographer On Thursday, January 26, 2017, over two dozen first graders from Mrs. Whitley’s and Mrs. Foerman’s classes from Lake Asbury Elementary School were able to witness a tree being planted in their school yard, probably a first time experience for many of the young students. Forester Jack Hernandez of the Florida Forest Service was on hand to show the children how to properly remove a young tree from its planter to its permanent resting place in the ground.
