The one-day event will include 140. 6 and 70.3 mile routes that start at Marine Creek Lake, span the city and finish in the heart of downtown Fort Worth. NV: Vegas, Baby: WTT Returns to Caesars Palace Some of the greatest players in tennis history are returning to Las Vegas this fall as World TeamTennis Smash Hits returns to Caesars Palace on Monday, October 10. John McEnroe, Andy Roddick, Martina Navratilova and Lindsay Davenport will headline the annual charity tennis event co-hosted by longtime friends Sir Elton John and Billie Jean King. IL: Rockford Secures Tough Mudder Events from 2016-2018 Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB) noted that the Tough Mudder team will call Rockford home from 2016-2019. Tough Mudder events typically draw up to 10,000 participants plus 4,000 spectators, and should generate more than $3 million in economic impact for its host community. Ultimately, the airport was chosen by Tough Mudder because of the amount of land available, convenient access to amenities and the relationship built with the RACVB and the airport. FL: Sarasota to Host USRowing Youth National Championships Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida, will be the site for the 2017 USRowing Youth National Championships. The championships, which serve as the premier junior rowing event in the United States, will be held between June 9-11, 2017. The event sees approximately 1,500 athletes competing in more than 350 crews, representing some 150 teams from across the country – all vying for national titles in 18 boat classes. NC: Harmony to Host 2016 Disabled Water Ski National Championships The Water Skiers with Disabilities Association, a sport discipline organization of USA Water Ski, is pleased to announce the 24th Disabled Water Ski National Championships will be held October 12-16 at Skyview Lake in Harmony, North Carolina. The competition will include more than 30 disabled water ski athletes from across the United States. The tournament will offer slalom, tricks and jumping events for vision impaired individuals (blind or partially sighted), multiplegics (paraplegics and quadriplegics), leg amputees (above and below knee), arm amputees, and athletes with both arm and leg disabilities. A Can-Am event also will take place throughout the tournament, pitting athletes from the United States against their counterparts from Canada. Gymnastics: 36 Cities to Host Kellogg’s Tour of Champions The 2016 Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions, which began on September 15 in Spokane, Washington, will visit 36 cities, both large and small, across the nation before wrapping up November 13 in Boston, Massachusetts. The Tour will showcase gymnasts from the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games, along with well-known names from the sport. “This is going to be the best show we have ever produced,” said Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics. “We will celebrate our athletes’ success in Rio, as well as what gymnastics means to kids and fans of all ages. This will be a special opportunity for fans across America to see the USA’s best-known and well-loved gymnasts.”
