DADE COUNTY TROPICAL SOCCER CLUB Our Pledge to Westchester Optimist Soccer Play‐ ers and Their Families: Tropical Soccer provides an environment in which the joy of soccer is promoted through improving skills and nurturing the appreciation and under‐ standing of the game. We strive to develop play‐ ers at all levels of play ‐ recreational and travel ‐ by building and improving their skills, confidence, fitness, initiatives and a sense of teamwork. We are committed to developing coaches to the high‐ est level through a quality instructional program. We promote and encourage high standards of sportsmanship and fair play. CUTLER RIDGE SOCCER CLUB ODP SELECTION Congratulations to Austin Ruel (U13 Boys) who was selected to represent the state ODP (Olympic De‐ velopment Program) team for his age group. Austin will have two more practice sessions with the state squad before go‐ ing up to play in Alabama with the team during the summer. Austin could then be selected for the regional ODP squad. Good luck Austin! PINECREST SOCCER CLUB CONGRATS ON THE WIN Pinecrest Premier SC’s U10 Girls Blue team met up with some formidable oppo‐ nents in this past weekend to play for the USSSA SouthEast Regional Championship. The girls dominated the opposi‐ tion from the start to finish, allowing only 2 goals the during entire tournament. In the fi‐ nals they competed against the highly ranked Braden River Rage team. An early goal put the team in total control of the game, allowing only one shot on goal the entire game, the Pinecrest girls defeated Braden River 2‐0 to claim the champi‐ onship. The result added to their tournament domination, as they outscored their opponents by a combined score of 11‐ 2. Their championship has ensured they qualify for the Nation‐ als in Kansas City this coming October. January 16, 2010 ‐ Pinecrest, Fl. ‐ This past weekend Pinecrest Premier Soccer Club and The Village of Pinecrest worked to‐ gether to raise awareness of the catastrophic occurrence in Haiti. As the nation was in com‐ plete devastation many volunteered in order help a nation in need. A food drive was or‐ ganized in Pinecrest Gardens taking collec‐ tions of bottled water, canned meat/fish or canned/boxed milk products.
