Now we are past the spring weather and heading straight into summer. With this in mind, I wanted to address something that effects all of us as business owners and applicators alike. Wind Restrictions! I too get frustrated with feeling like my hands are tied, not by regulation but by mother nature, to keep myself and my team on schedule. I know that most customers have no idea what we do behind the scenes to keep in compliance at the same time working to maintain happy clients. I'm sure we all understand why we have the wind restrictions but that is no solace when we are three days behind on sprays and no relief is in sight from the weather man! Many years ago I worked for a PCO that was a very gracious and patient man. He taught me how to deal with our Idaho spring. We would spend what seemed like as many hours on the phone rescheduling our clients as we should have been out spraying. Some complained, some canceled, but most were understanding of our situation and would just say "Get me in the schedule when you can." Over the years I have always remembered that we'll get it all done in time and, that sometimes the spring weather may not always start well, but we should always strive to finish well. In our service industry, at times, we may forget what it means to serve. This can happen to our detriment or hopefully to reignite our passion to help all those in our community that reach out to us for help in their time of need. I hope that you all are having a safe and profitable start to the 2016 season and my hope is that continues throughout the year.
