She worked for the Free Library of Philadelphia for many years, set up the library for the Philadelphia office of the Environmental Protection Agency, and later became the asbestos co-coordinator for the region. She is survived by HERMAN, her devoted husband of 56 years, a brother GILBERT (CONSTANCE) and by 3 children, MARCIA LEVIN PELCHAT (RODNEY), LORRAINE LEVIN (PAUL O’HANLON) and RICHARD LEVIN (RHONE). MURPHY FUNERAL HOME JANET CAPLAN LEVY, of Philadelphia, PA, died Sunday, January 10, 2010, at the age of 73, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Scranton, PA, she earned a BA degree from Hunter College and a Masters from Rutgers University in English literature. She worked many years in marketing communications and later made a career trading stocks. In 1958, she married SAUL YERMIE LEVY, and they moved to Princeton, NJ to raise a family. The family lived in Paris and traveled widely. JANET'S interests included: art, history gardening, finance, and the Middle East. She was also an avid reader. JANET was an exceptionally beautiful woman, whose smile could light up a room. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she provided advice and comfort to all who knew her. She was under- standing and loyal, even when loved ones made unorthodox choices. In addition to her husband of 52 years, SAUL Y. LEVY, of Philadelphia, JANET is survived by two children, LINDA LEVY WOOD, of Philadel- phia, and JONAH D. LEVY, of Piedmont, California, and their spouses, RONALD M. WOOD and HELGA LILIAN YING.
