Women’s Transportation Seminar Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Forum Approximately 40 women from around metro Atlanta attended the inaugural Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Forum, held by WTS at Jacobs Engineering Group – Midtown. Panelists for the Forum, which was moderated by Ferdinand Risco, Jr., MARTA’s Executive Director of Diversity and Equal Opportunity, included DeLois Babikerof with Intellectual Concepts, Teresa Epple of Southeastern Engineering, Inc. and Joddie Gray of UrbanTrans. 2015 ASHE Poker Tournament Mark Hitchcock took second, while Paul Murphy claimed first place overall. Tim Matthews with Georgia Department of Transportation and Robert Depietro with T.Y. Lin International play a hand in the tournament, which was held on March 19. A/E/C Joint Industry Client Roundtable Event Beth Harris of United Consulting, Karen Chin with Van Winkle Construction representing SMPS Atlanta, and Michael Sullivan of ACEC Georgia present Nicole D’Antonio of the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology with a donation aimed at developing future STEM students. Featured speakers included Jere Smith, Atlanta Public Schools; Jennifer Harper, P.E., Perimeter Community Improvement District; Carmen Cureton, GSFIC; Henry Gomez, Cobb County School District; Malaika Rivers, Cumberland Community Improvement District; Keith Mack, Regent Partners; Amanda Rhein, MARTA; Tor Brunso, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, South Atlanta Division; Antwinette Goodman, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, South Atlantic Division; Joe Marinaccio, P.E., CCM, U.S. General Services Administration; and John Hibbard, P.E., Georgia Department of Transportation. KofiSmith, Executive Director of Atlanta Airlines Terminal Corporation, keynoted the lunch portion of the event.
