The new City of Hobbs’ 27-hole municipal golf facility is destined to be acclaimed as one of the finest in the region. The top priority of the project is to provide a place to bring families, kids and beginners together via the game of golf. Rockwind Community Links, designed by Andy Staples of Staples Golf Design in Scottsdale, Arizona, will include a championship 18-hole course, a nine-hole par-3 course, a practice facility, a short game practice area and a full-service clubhouse. Rockwind also is a proud First Tee site. Duathlon Nationals Head West to Bend, oregon, in 2016-17 The best run-bike-run athletes in the country will travel to the Pacific Northwest for the 2016-17 USA Triathlon Duathlon National Championships, the organization announced. Duathlon Nationals will be contested in Bend, Oregon, on June 25, 2016. Athletes will compete for agegroup national titles in the standard- and sprint-distance races, as well as spots on Team USA, the select group of amateur multisport athletes who represent the U. S. at International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Championship events. Race distances and course information will be shared on usatriathlon.org when available. Columbia County Hosting Wildwood Games The Wildwood Games, a multiday, multi-sport event, were held in Wildwood Park, in Columbia County, Georgia, May 2-3. The event included mountain biking, trail running, open water swimming – and disc golf. Symetra Tour Makes long-Awaited Return to Massachusetts The Symetra Tour, Road to the LPGA, announced the addition of the W.B. Mason Championship at Thorny Lea Golf Club to the 2015 schedule. The event will take place the week of August 10-16. The three round, 54-hole stroke play format, will begin on Friday, August 14 and conclude on Sunday, August 16. Cincinnati, ohio, to Host obstacle Course Racing World Championships The Obstacle Course Racing World Championships (OCRWC) will be held in October 2015 in Cincinnati, Ohio. ISBF World Youth Championships Returning to Colorado The United States Association for Blind Athletes (USABA) has announced the International Blind Sports Federation (ISBF) World Youth Championships will return to Colorado Springs, Colorado , for 2015. The biennial ISBA event will take place July 26-Aug. 1 on the campus of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Countries from around the world will send boys’ and girls’ goalball teams to compete in these championships, which will also feature opening and closing ceremonies.
