ROBERT ANDELMAN was born and raised in Columbia, Maryland. After college, he worked in the non-profit sector in information technology for over 10 years, seven of which were spent with the Association of American Geographers. Along with some childhood friends, he created a local flag football team and went on to win 16 National Flag Football Championships during a 20-year career. He was managing editor of Tennis Magazine from 1990 to 1999 and editorial director of Tennis’s custom publishing division from 1999 to 2009. MICHAEL POPKE is an award-winning journalist with 25 years of professional experience in print and digital media.
