He is the editor of Racquet Sports Industry, the world’s largest tennis trade publication, and through his company, Ace Media Group, he works closely with the Tennis Industry Association and other groups in communications, marketing and public relations. He was managing editor of Tennis Magazine from 1990 to 1999 and editorial director of Tennis’s custom publishing division from 1999 to 2009. For nearly 25 years, MIKE MAY has been a leading spokesman in the sports industry in the U.S. with the Sports & Fitness Industry Association. He has covered issues as varied as national trends in sports participation, the emergence of sports like lacrosse, rugby and Ultimate Frisbee and global interest in sports licensed products. His experiences include lobbying on Capitol Hill for support of more P.E. in schools, defending the safety of non-wood baseball bats and making television appearances regarding the sports industry. JIM LORD is a former captain for the nationally ranked University of Kentucky cheer squad. He has been involved in cheerleading since 1984 as a cheerleader, coach, administrator and now as the executive director for the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators. He works with the NFHS Spirit Rules Committee and has spoken at over 30 different state coaches conference as well as national and international conferences. He also volunteers at his son’s elementary school as president of the PTO. He is a former federal prosecutor with the United States Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn (1989-1993) with clients including soccer legend ‘Pele’, recording artist Sarah Brightman, Miss Universe 2008, 2009 and 2010, as well as the newly resurrected New York Cosmos. She has a couple of degrees, has been a radio personality and television news writer, teaches and really wants to get a Golden Retriever puppy, too. MIKE GUSWILER was named executive director of the West Michigan Sports Commission in 2007 when the commission was established, leading all operations of the organization since its inception. Under his leadership, the commission has booked nearly 300 sporting events generating $100 million in visitor spending. She previously worked as the director of development and marketing for EducationWorks in Lawrenceville, Georgia, and has served as the development and marketing manager for an $11 million organization. She holds a master’s degree in sports management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
