The vote was not unanimous, however, with Commissioner Ronnie Robinson casting the single dissenting vote. He said that the proposed ordinance was too restrictive and unnecessary. This action came following almost a half year of controversy among pet owners and local veterinarians whose businesses are based in Clay County. Last October local veterinarians complained to the BCC that mobile vet clinics had an unfair business advantage because they didn’t have to pay the same overhead expenses. County pet owners and animal lovers supported the mobile vet clinics because of the low-cost vaccinations and other veterinary services provided by clinic. PORTABLES CARPORTS STEEL BUILDINGS OF ORANGE PARK This years' Area 12 Regional Championship was hosted at the USCG Hitron Jacksonville at Cecil Field on March 2nd, 2013. The championship was between the top 16 schools in North East Florida and Georgia. The 16 NJROTC units have earned the right to go to the State Championship and compete in Drill, Athletic and Academic competition. The events consist of Personnel Inspection, Drill of Unarmed and Armed Basic, Unarmed and Armed Exhibition and Color Guard. Also 100 question Academic test, Athletics; consisting of Push-ups and Sit-ups, a 16X100 run and a 8X220 run. This years' Area 12 Regional Championship Clay county was represented by Middleburg, Clay, Fleming Island, and Orange Park High Schools. For the past four years Middleburg High School has qualified to go to the Regional Championships, and in the 2011-12 school year Middleburg placed 2nd thus earning the right to go to the National Championship hosted by NAS Pensacola where the Middleburg High School cadets placed 15th in the nation in Drill competition and 5th in the Nation in Academics. This years' (2012-13) Area 12 Regional Championship, for the 1st time in the schools history the cadets of Middleburg High School placed 1st, beating out the other 15 schools and earning them a return trip to the National Championship hosted by A & L Irrigation, LLC FREE GAZEBOS Come to the Clay County Fair for Our Factory Discounts!
