HERSH was devoted to his wife CHARLOTTE for 58 years and to his children STEVE MUCHNICK, LISA MUCHNICK POTE, TESSA MUCHNICK TEETER (DR. JOHN), and MINDY MUCHNICK OPPENHEIMER (DAVID). He en-joyed close and loving relationships with his grandchildren BENJAMIN, MAX, MOLLIE, REBECCA, AARON, NATALIE, HANNAH, JENNA, RACHEL and MATTHEW. His mem-ory will be cherished by his family, business associates and many friends in the commu-nity. HERSH's life was a tale of two cities. Born and raised in Washington, D.C., he at-tended Wilson High School and George Washington University. He received a degree in Business Administration after serving in the U.S. Air Force Reserve during the Korean War. Following his graduation from GWU, and along with his father JOSEPH and brother-in-law MERVIN LEWIS, HERSH founded the Tak-A-Toy Corp., which became a national toy distributorship. After the sale of Tak-A-Toy to the Larami Corp. in 1991, HERSH moved to Philadelphia and continued to manage Tak-A-Toy until his retirement in 1994. HERSH was a life-long inspirational leader in both Washington and Philadelphia. His positive outlook and knowledge of the good in all people shaped his relationships in his business, within his family and in the larger community. HERSH was a long-time supporter both of the State of Israel and of Jewish-American causes. In Washington, Hersh was active in the Adas Israel Congre-gation over many years, serving on numer-ous committees, and as Executive Vice-Presi-dent and Board member. In both Washington and at Har Zion Temple in Philadelphia, he was a steadfast supporter and leader in the Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs, receiving many leadership awards including the Ma'a-sim Tovim (good deeds) Award and the Re-gional Men's Club Man of the Year award. Hersh also contributed to the community at large by volunteering at the Philadelphia Or-chestra, to Meals on Wheels and to the Democratic Party. JOSEPH LEVINE and SONS, INC. MUCHNICK VICTOR R. NAGELBERG, the former owner and president of the Victor Company in Philadelphia, a restaurant equipment com-pany, died on September 5, 2012. He lived in Media, Pa. MR. NAGELBERG was a graduate of Central High School-Class # 156 and was a standout baseball pitcher for the Central High School baseball team. GOLDSTEINS’ ROSENBERG’S RAPHAEL-SACKS SETLEIS HELEN GOLDBERG PEARLMAN, 86, of West Caln, died peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Brandywine Hospital. She was the wife of the late REUBEN PEARLMAN who served in the US Army during WWII and was a war hero. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late EDWARD and LEAH GOLDBERG. She served as a legal secretary most of her life. HELEN loved to dance, write stories, shop and she was an accomplished artist. She was a woman with a fine sense of humor and she delighted in making people laugh. She will be missed by all that knew her. She was the loving mother of JANET MACKEY, Mother-in-Law of HOWARD AN-DERSON, two grandchildren; WILLIAM MACKEY and AMANDA ACUNA and two great grandchildren; HEAVEN CHAMBERS and GRACE ACUNA. He was 94 years old. BEN was born in Philadelphia to MAX & JENNY SHUS-TERMAN, brother to DAVID & REBA (both now deceased). He lived in Springfield, Dela-ware County in the same home for over 48 years. BEN served in the Army Corp as a Staff Sergeant based in Fort Meade and Aberdeen, Maryland during World War II in the portable surgical unit. He married MIRIAM (nee FUHRMAN) in 1943 and both lived on the army bases during the war. BEN graduated from Central High School in Philadelphia. He attended Philadelphia Textile College and worked in his parents' furrier shop on 12th Street in Center City. BEN opened his own 5 & 10 cent variety store in West Philadelphia in the 1950's. He and his wife expanded to two stores and operated the business for 15 years. BEN took accounting courses and worked as a bookkeeper/controller for two Philadelphia law firms -first for Schein & Brookman and later for Brookman, Rosen-berg, Brown & Sandler until he was 88 never missing a day of work. He worked evenings and weekends for H & R Block in Springfield for many years and had a large following of clients. BEN loved to travel to distant places with his wife, daughter, and grandchildren for many years. He liked to bowl, play pinochle, and dance to 40's music. BEN is survived by his loving wife, MIRIAM, his devoted daughter RACHEL BARTON of Elkton, Maryland, his grandsons SCOTT EHR-LICH of West Chester, PA, and MATTHEW EHRLICH of Nashville, TN, and 4 great grand-children LUKE, SAMANTHA, LAUREN, and MEGHAN EHRLICH.
