The Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors (MACC) is pleased to announce their celebration of the organization’s 40th Anniversary. A sold out crowd joined the MACC for their 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner on Friday January 20th, 2012 at the Chesapeake Inn in Chesapeake City, MD. The evening kicked off with a welcome by MACC President, Bill O’Neal as he installed the 2012 MACC Board of Directors, followed by 40th Anniversary honors with tributes including a gubernatorial tribute from Governor Jack Markell, a House of Representatives tribute from State Representative Quinn Johnson and a New Castle County resolution from Councilman Bill Powers. MACC founder, Will Kirkwood received a founders’ tribute from both the MACC and New Castle County Council. The annual dinner not only celebrated the Chamber’s milestone anniversary, but also honored local businesses and citizens who continue to make Southern New Castle County a great place to live and work with the long standing Business of the Year Award. New this year, is the first annual Citizen of the Year Award named after current President, Bill O’Neal and Ambassador of the Year, named after long term President, Jeff Buckworth. The evening also recognized an outstanding board member of the year with the Will Kirkwood President’s Award. The MACC award winners include: MACC President’s Award -Diane Burke, Business of the Year -Excel Business Systems, Ambassador of the Year -Caryn Rosica, Citizen of the Year -Dawn McDowell, and Special Recognition Award -W. D. Hatton Jewelers, as a 40 year member company of the MACC. Guests enjoyed the musical styling’s of LA Productions for the remainder of the evening with dancing and networking. MACC Excel Business Sytsems owner Frank Montisano receives his Business of the Year award from Bill O’Neal, MACC President, and Roxane Ferguson, MACC Executive Director.
