Paul Licausi, LS Commercial Real Estate

President
LS Commercial Real Estate, Inc
Overland Park, KS

Paul Licausi knows the Kansas City market. And he’s no stranger to commercial markets across the Midwest, either.

That’s to be expected. Licausi is no newcomer to the world of commercial real estate. The president of LS Commercial Real Estate in Overland Park, Kansas, has worked in the commercial real estate industry for more than 20 years. And he’s run his own company since 1990.

During his long career, Licausi has developed more than 6 million square feet of retail and industrial property throughout the Midwest and Southwest portions of the country. He’s also led LS Commercial to a place of prominence in the commercial business: The company today is an important player in the Midwest’s real estate industry.

Licausi’s peers credit his market knowledge, drive and ability to close deals as the main reasons for both his and his company’s success.

“Paul never stops working,” said one nominator. “He’s constantly thinking of ways to close deals and help his clients. I’ve met a lot of hard workers in this industry. Paul beats them all.”

This dedication has paid off. LS Commercial today represents a portfolio of commercial properties totaling more than 9 million square feet. The company’s portfolio boasts a value of more than $200 million.

Those are impressive numbers, especially for a firm that didn’t even exist until 1990.

“Paul knows his markets,” a nominator said. “He does his research. The best brokers have the ability to recognize a good deal from a bad deal. Paul has this ability.”

Because he’s so committed to his business, Licausi doesn’t balk at taking on additional challenges. In addition to his responsibilities at LS Commercial, then, Licausi also serves as president of LS Commercial Services. This company, a full-service general-contracting company, is a valuable sister firm to LS Commercial.

The additional company allows LS Commercial to provide extra value to its clients, who appreciate being able to tap into LS’ construction services to make their lives a bit easier.

Outside of his work duties, Licausi, despite an incredibly busy schedule, has managed to find time to service his community. He serves on the board of directors for the Kansas City Smart Port and Southwest Johnson County Economic Development Council.

Licausi is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, Industrial Asset Management Council, CoreNet Global, the Commercial Real Estate Council and the Kansas City Area Development Council.

As if that didn’t lead to a busy enough life, Licausi also lends his thoughts on the commercial real estate industry, both locally in the Kansas City area and nationally, to several trade publications that he serves as a contributing editor.
