12 Metre Class Welcome

You are cordially invited to participate in the year-long “12 Metre Golden Year of Racing” celebration, which will include numerous on and off water events in Newport and elsewhere in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and downtown New York City.
The centerpiece of the “Golden Year” will be the September 2009, 12 Metre
World Championships to be held in Newport, Rhode Island. Organized by the
International 12 Metre Class in cooperation with The New York Yacht Club, the
regatta will be held in the waters of Rhode Island Sound and Narragansett Bay.
The 12 Metre Worlds may be witness to the largest gathering of 12 Metre
yachts assembled since the 2001 Jubilee in Cowes. All the participating boats
will be available for public viewing from Bannister’s Wharf, with regatta events
taking place at NYYC’s Harbour Court, downtown Newport’s Bannister’s Wharf,
Bowen’s Wharf and other locations in Newport.
